possibly a date code for 1891 and manufactured by Langenhan in Germany, with octagonal to round 19in. barrel locking at the breech via a side-button, the top-flat stamped 'H THE LINCOLN AIR RIFLE' crudely and in differing fonts, dove-tailed fore-sight, elevating notch rear-sight, plain air-chamber with flaring trigger unit, walnut saw-handled butt-stock with exaggerated and chequered full pistol-grip, replacement brass heel-plate, nickel plated and chequered trigger blade, cast trigger guard with pull-weight adjuster and no provision for fore-end, small traces of plating to air-chamber
